Degrees on Line

GENERALITIES

This educative modality represents the present and the future teaching. The FCA (Accounting and Administration School), because of its characteristics and specific conditions, is allowed to form (through this modality) professionals of excellence, being competitive, creative, with the ability of analysis, practical and critical researchers, being able to put into practice their knowledge and learning, decision makers, leaders with the ability to make a better world.

BUT, WHAT A DEGREE ON LINE IS?

It is an educative system which is characterized of being democratic, technical, scientific, and humanistic. It is based on the application of andragogical principles about learning, without restriction of place, time, occupation, or age of students. It implies new roles for the teachers; but moreover, for the students. It is because there are new attitudes and new methodological approaches. It is based on self-education, with the support of on campus or virtual consultancies, suitable didactic materials, and modern telematic media which is provided principally by the Internet.

WHO CAN DO A DEGREE ON LINE?

Since it is the ideal option for people who, because of different circumstances, could not start, continue, or finish their professional formation, any person can do a degree on line. The student of a degree on line makes good use of available time, trying to avoid losing time in transportation or long waits. It also offers the option that students may combine learning with work. This allows the student to experience a real application of knowledge.

ARE THE DEGREES ON LINE A SECOND OPTION?

It is necessary to banish some ideas about this educative modality, since it is not:

  • A little by little education on campus.
  • A complement for on campus education.
  • An education designed for unsuccessful students on campus education.
  • The simple handing over of pedagogical materials and simple tasks, or
  • An easier modality than the one given on campus.
    Then, this educative modality and the usage of new Information and Communication Technologies (TIC’s), are based on tools to make large and drastic changes. Since the central role is on the student, with a self-learning orientation and its formed professionals, the student could apply the knowledge and the information with a practical and productive sense.
